Kumpulanmäki Campus Blocks
Our company was invited in the design competition of Kumpula campus blocks in 2019. The task was to design a new mixed urban area by the Kumpula university campus including housing, services, a business block and kindergarten. The area is especially challenging due to the steep sloping terrain and the busy traffic passing it. In our concept, the new urban blocks create a cozy chain of inner courtyards. The design includes ca. 70 000 sqm of housing, ca. 10 000 sqm of offices, ca. 2000 sqm of retail spaces and a kindergarten. The design was made in collaboration with Nomaji landscape architects and Ramboll traffic planning.
